When is Stamp Duty payable?

If Stamp Duty is payable, HMRC requires you to pay within 14 days (England & Northern Ireland) or 30 days (Scotland & Wales) after completing the transaction. Failure to pay in time may result in a fine; however, your conveyancer/solicitor would usually collect this from you before completing the transaction and make the payment on your behalf.
